I've always loved Southern Rock. Remember Episode 93 - A-Z of Southern Rock
That was an episode to introduce you all to a host of fabulous Souther rock bands.
Of all the Southern Rock bands, my favourite is possibly Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Tonight, I'm going to share their first 2 albums with you! Both of them are absolutely brilliant and I do hope you love em. Here we go.
1973 - (Pronounced 'lĕh-'nérd 'skin-'nérd)
Pronounced 'lĕh-'nérd 'skin-'nérd, released in 1973, is Lynyrd Skynyrd's debut album. Featured songs included "I Ain't the One," "Gimme Three Steps," "Simple Man," "Tuesday's Gone" and "Free Bird," the rock anthem that first brought the band national attention.
I'm sure you must have heard "Play Free Bird" chants at many concerts.
It has become a joke for the audience in many concerts to shout "Free Bird" as a request to hear the song, regardless of the what's going on on the stage :) Next time you're at a gig...go ahead and shout "Play Free Bird" :) heh. It's fun! :)
Anyhow, the album was re-released in 2001 as an expanded version with bonus tracks, including demos of many of the songs on the album.

1974 - Second Helping
Second Helping released in 1974 was Lynyrd Skynyrd's second album, and featured their biggest hit single, "Sweet Home Alabama", which was an answer song to Neil Young's "Southern Man" and "Alabama". The song reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974. Second Helping also featured "The Ballad of Curtis Loew," "Don't Ask Me No Questions," "Workin' for MCA," and "Call Me the Breeze," the latter of which includes an acclaimed piano solo. This was the first Lynyrd Skynyrd album to feature the band's trademark triple guitar attack.
The album reached #12 on the Billboard Album charts, eventually becoming multi-platinum.
