The MJ Show #133 - Rock Of Ages! (Songs from the soundtrack)

Just got back home from watching "Rock Of Ages".

Here's what I think. Don't go to the movie being all serious and stuff. Go to have fun and you'll come back thoroughly entertained! It's a music lover's dream movie...especially if you rocked out to 80s rock n roll music. It's got songs by some of the best bands you can think of. The versions in the movie done by the cast of the movie are absolutely stunning. I wish I could play you the movie versions here but I figured you should go and experience that yourselves in the movie...but just to get you familiarized with the songs in case you didn't know some of them, I thought I'd get all the songs in the movie...the originals versions that is and put them all up for you.
So here you are! Enjoy this phenomenal set...and just think...you'll get ALL these songs in one movie!
Absolutely brilliant! I think after "Across The Universe" which had a ton of Beatles songs...this is my favourite movie soundtrack in a long long time.
Also Glee fans...this is almost like Glee for the bigger kids :)

The movie releases next week. Don't miss it! :)

Man! This show was an education for me too. So many awesome bands here that I'd never heard before.
Here's what I'm going to do and what I hope you will as well...especially if you're a metal fan.
Take these singles here as a start up. Listen to ALL the songs. Each and every one of them. Decide which bands you LOVE, like, think are ok...and dislike. Leave out the last category and start off with the ones you LOVE. Go after them. Find more of their songs...their albums and listen to them.
This, THIS is the true joy of being a true music lover. Discovering new music...music you've never heard of before...it's such a thrill! :)

Hope you enjoy this show. This one took a while getting together.
PLEASE do let me know what you think...and do send this to every metal/rock fan you know. By the way...though the genre was called New Wave Of British Heavy Metal...not all bands are really "METAL" so if you're scared of that word...don't be. These bands are BRILLIANT! :D

I'm hoping to see a lot of comments this time around guys. If you don't tell me what you think, how can I know what you want in the weeks to come. So yeah...do comment down here :) and let me know :)

Right then...it is now time for me to say...take care...and Good Night! :)
This is your Musicman Mihir...signing off!

The MJ Show #1 (Rock & Oldies)

I've been missing radio. A LOT. I miss playing my favourite songs for people...sharing the music...the stories...and getting the feedback I used to get.
I miss you all. All the regular fans and listeners. I really really do :)

And though I'm not getting back on radio...I thought I'd do the next best thing.
Every night...or as often as possible, I am going to sit up at home and listen to the songs I might have shared with you that night.

Hence...the MJ show on Twitter :) For a change I'm dropping the "Musicman" moniker and letting you see Mihir Joshi. I did what I did because I loved the music. "Musicman" was a gimmick that came about to help you all remember me. I think its been around long enough. It'll still be there...but I'm quite happy just being Mihir Joshi too :)
