The MJ Show #13 (Songs From Tarantino Films!)

I LOVE Quentin Tarantino. His movies are brilliant...iconic...absolutely phenomenal! :)

Here's a list of the movies that I want to go through tonight.
Reservoir Dogs (1992)
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Jackie Brown (1997)
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004)
Death Proof (2007)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)

And one of the most important elements that makes his movies so incredible is the soundtrack for the movie. I think he chooses the most brilliant songs for his movies and today and I love how he uses them to accentuate scenes and situations in his movies.

So here we go...tonight, I've got songs/music from Tarantino films for you. Hope you enjoy these :) And if you've not seen any of these movies...go see em now! :)

The song was one of Jimmy Page's favourite too btw. Here's Jimmy Page telling you why.

Jackie Brown (1997)
Tarantino has said that in developing the script for Jackie Brown, he decided on the majority of the songs during the writing stage.
He added "More or less the way my method works is you have got to find the opening credit sequence first. That starts it off from me. I find the personality of the piece through the music that is going to be in it . . . It is the rhythm of the film. Once I know I want to do something, then it is a simple matter of me diving into my record collection and finding the songs that give me the rhythm of my movie."

The man chooses his music before he makes his movies! Is it any surprise that the music is so good. Just look at this show. I've got 50 tracks used in his movies here and I know I've missed out so many!

Wow! 50 songs!!! From 7 movies!!!
Could you remember scenes from the movies as you heard these?
Did I miss out a song that you really liked and that was featured in one of his movies? Let me know!

Oh this show happened in a big way thanks to the very awesome Neha Karmarkar  who egged me on to doing this. So Ms.K, big Tarantino fan that you are, this one's for you! :)

This was fun!
That's all for tonight.
