The MJ Show #62 (Classic Albums - Queen - A Night At The Opera)

Queen was without a doubt, one of the greatest rock bands in the world. Their music could never be confined to one genre. They did everything! Absolutely EVERYTHING! And they did it so well!

One of the most incredible albums that they made was the album that I'm featuring today in my Classic Albums series! A Night at the Opera was, at the time of its release, the most expensive album ever recorded. Upon release, A Night at the Opera was a commercial success, debuting at #1 in the UK charts and remaining there for nine weeks. In the US, it debuted at #4, the band's strongest showing at that time.
The album takes its name from the Marx Brothers film A Night at the Opera, which the band watched one night at the studio complex when recording.
Here's what it looks like. It's something you NEED to have in your collection. Go buy it now!

Hope you liked that and if you hadn't heard the complete album before, I hope you did tonight. Queen is a LOT more than "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions", "Radio Ga Ga" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". The thing is, they had so many massive hits that you might have heard a lot of Queen songs but they have a LOT more great songs and albums that weren't "massive" hits...but they were brilliant nevertheless. To really understand the greatness of a band I feel you NEED to listen to their albums and not just the hit singles.
I hope this album gets you started off with Queen.
Also, to get you kicked off on your Queen discovery ride here's something I'd done many weeks ago. Have a look: The MJ Show #10 (Queen)

That's all I got for you today. More classic albums will come your way soon!

Right then...It's now time for me to say...take care...and good night! :)
This is your Musicman Mihir...signing off!
