The MJ Show #52 (Arctic Monkeys)

The Arctic Monkey is an English alternative rock band from High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, England. Formed in 2002, the band currently consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, guitar), Jamie Cook (guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals), Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals) and John Ashton as a touring member (keyboard, guitar, backing vocals). Former members include Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Glyn Jones (lead vocals, guitar).

Their debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not", released in early 2006, became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history, surpassing Oasis's "Definitely Maybe" and remains the fastest-selling debut album for a band in the UK. Since then the band have released two more albums: Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007) and Humbug (2009).

I've loved this band since the very first time I heard them. I think they would be an absolutely incredible band to watch live and I love the accent that the singer has.
Tonight I want to take you through their music. I am going to give you live versions of all songs from their first 2 albums and the latest singles from their new album!

So...here we go!

2006 - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (Complete Album!)
The album includes both tracks from the band's original EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys, as well as their first two singles and UK Number Ones, "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down".
It has since gone quadruple platinum in the UK, and won the 2006 Mercury Prize.
