The MJ Show #29 (Classic Albums - AC/DC - Back In Black)

Tonight, I decided to start off a new concept, which I shall be repeating with other great albums in the future as well.
It is my Classic Albums series! If you've missed out any of these albums that I put out here, you HAVE to go out and pick them up. They are an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for any music fan.
I'll not restrict the albums to rock alone. We'll have Classic Albums from all genres in the days to come.

To kick off this series I knew that I had to give you one of the greatest rock 'n' roll albums ever made.
I'm talking about the ass kicking, mind blowing, out and out rock 'n' roller - ACDC's Back In Black!!!

Hell Yeah! Just listening to the name of that album gets me in the mood to rock out.
So if this is the first time you're experiencing the glory of Back In Black, I envy you, you lucky bastards!
And if you're a fan...well join me in what is going to be one helluva ride!

Here we go!

Okay first up...this album came out at a time when fans were wondering...is ACDC finished? Bon Scott, the first singer of ACDC, passed out after a night of heavy drinking in London and was left in a car owned by an acquaintance named Alistair Kinnear on 19 February 1980. The following morning, Kinnear rushed him to King's College Hospital in Camberwell, where Scott was pronounced dead on arrival.
He basically died by choking on his own vomit. Not a good way to go at all. Man!

Any how, so Bon Scott was out...ACDC had found themselves a new singer and lyricist in Brian Johnson. The million dollar question now was...was Brian Johnson any good?

The first song of Back In Black...made all doubts disappear!
GONG!! GONG!! GONG!! GONG!! The massive bell rang...heralding the coming of a new rock 'n' roll force. Brian Johnson had arrived and ACDC were BACK! BACK IN BLACK!
Here it is...
1st Song - ACDC - Hell's Bells #TheMJshow

There's no quit in this album. One bomb drops after another. Before you can recover from Hell's Bells...you have the 2nd track. One of my favourites on this album.
Here it is...
2nd Song - ACDC - Shoot To Thrill #TheMJshow

Time for the 3rd BOMB!!!
3rd Song - ACDC - What Do You Do For Money Honey #TheMJshow

The energy in this album is absolutely insane. The madness continues with this next song...
4th Song - ACDC - Givin The Dog A Bone #TheMJshow

The song "Let Me Put My Love into You" was rated #6 in the Parents Music Resource Center Filthy Fifteen list in 1985.
Enough reason for any young blooded kid to LOVE it! Listen to this one. What a song!
5th Song - ACDC - Let Me Put My Love Into You #TheMJshow

The song was ranked #4 by VH1 on their list of the 40 Greatest Metal Songs, and in 2009, it was named the second greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1. It was also ranked #187 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The same magazine has also ranked "Back in Black" number 29 on "The 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time".
It is one of my favourite ACDC songs ever! From the starting riff to the brilliant vocals in this song...everything is KICK ASS!
6th Song - ACDC - Back In Black #TheMJshow

Now who doesn't love this song eh? And who doesn't know this!? :)
This one's pure rock 'n' roll fun! Have a blast boys and girls.
7th Song - ACDC - You Shook Me All Night Long #TheMJshow

Had to give you this! Man! One of my favourite bands and one of my favourite singers gettin' together! In the words of Barney...legen...wait for it...dary! :)
Bonus Song - ACDC & Steven Tyler - You Shook Me All Night Long #TheMJshow

Remember hearing in a documentary some years ago that this song was a direct tribute in an album which was kinda dedicated to the memory of Bon Scott.
8th Song - ACDC - Have A Drink On Me #TheMJshow

Another fast paced ass kicker this. Like I told you...there's no give in this one. It's an all out fight till the end kind of an album.
9th Song - ACDC - Shake A Leg #TheMJshow

We're just talkin' about the future
Forget about the past
It'll always be with us
It's never gonna die, never gonna die

Rock 'n' roll ain't noise pollution
Rock 'n' roll ain't gonna die
Rock 'n' roll ain't no pollution
Rock 'n' roll it will survive
These words capture the essence of the album and of rock 'n' roll music man!
What a way to end an incredible album! :)
10th Song - ACDC - Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution #TheMJshow

Back in Black contains some of AC/DC's biggest hits, including "Hells Bells", "You Shook Me All Night Long", and the title track "Back in Black." The final song on the album, "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" reached number 15 on the UK singles charts, the highest placing of any song on the album. According to Angus Young the album's all-black cover was a "sign of mourning" for Scott, as black is the traditional Western colour of mourning. It is AC/DC's best selling album, the second best-selling album of all time, and the biggest selling album by any band, with more than 45 million copies sold worldwide.
In 2006 Back in Black was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America as the fifth best-selling album in the United States, with 22 million copies sold. Despite its massive commercial success, it is not AC/DC's highest charting album in the U.S, peaking at #4; their next album, For Those About to Rock We Salute You, hit #1 in 1981 as did the band's 2008 album Black Ice. However, it hit number 1 on the UK charts.

That's about it for tonight. I'll bring you more classic albums in the weeks to come. You can give me your recommendations and requests in the comments here. :)
Thank you once again for the support on twitter and all the RTing :)
Keep it going boys and girls...spread the music...be passionate about what you love and spread the love...be passionate about rock 'n' roll music...cos like these guys here said...rock 'n' roll is here to stay!

Right on!
Time to say...Good Night...and Take Care :)
